The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra is a unique smartphone, available in both vegan leather and actual wood versions. Beyond its distinctive design, it boasts flagship-grade features across the board, including display, performance, speakers, cameras, battery, and charging.
The Edge 50 series includes three models: Fusion (the affordable option), Pro (the balanced choice), and Ultra (the most advanced version). While the Pro impressed us as a reasonable offering, the Ultra stands out with its unique design, especially the Nordic Wood version, which is truly one of a kind.
Beyond its striking exterior, the Edge 50 Ultra boasts a 6.7-inch P-OLED screen with a 1220p resolution and curved Gorilla Glass Victus protection. The display supports 10-bit color depth, a 144Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+ streaming.
The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, which, while not the absolute fastest on the market, delivers strong performance. It comes with either 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and offers 512GB or 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.
The camera setup is impressive: a primary 50MP sensor with an OIS lens, a 64MP telephoto lens with periscope capabilities for 3x optical zoom and up to 6x lossless magnification, and a 50MP AF ultrawide camera that also supports macro photography. For selfies, there’s a 50MP AF front camera.
Motorola also highlights the powerful stereo speakers, Ultra Wideband connectivity, Wi-Fi 7 support, and the 4,500mAh battery, which features 125W fast wired charging, 50W fast wireless charging, and even 10W reverse wireless charging.
