The new Google Pixel 9 is set to launch in October 2024 in India.
The previous month witnessed the emergence of hands-on images unveiling the forthcoming Google Pixel 9 Pro. Today, the same trusted source returns with additional leaks. This time, not only does the Pixel 9 Pro feature prominently in these leaked images, but it’s also accompanied by the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro.
If you’re taken aback, it’s worth mentioning that the designation “Pixel 9 Pro XL” hasn’t received official confirmation yet. However, Google plans to introduce three premium slab-style devices this year. Tentatively, we’re referring to them as the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL.
The Pixel 9 is poised to follow in the footsteps of the Pixel 8, while the Pixel 9 Pro XL is anticipated to succeed the Pixel 8 Pro. Meanwhile, the Pixel 9 Pro is expected to boast specifications similar to the XL model but with a size akin to the Pixel 9.
The Pixel 9 prototype depicted here is equipped with 12GB of RAM, whereas the other two variants boast 16GB. Storage capacity remains consistent at 128GB across all models. These specifications might undergo alterations as we transition to mass production units. However, the screen sizes are likely to remain unchanged. Specifically, the Pixel 9 is expected to feature a 6.24″ display, the Pixel 9 Pro a 6.34″ display, and the Pixel 9 XL a 6.73″ display.
In terms of size, the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro share identical dimensions. However, the variation lies in the screen design, with the Pixel 9 featuring noticeably larger bezels. On the other hand, both the Pixel 9 Pro and Pro XL are equipped with three 50 MP cameras on the back. While the Pixel 9 unsurprisingly hosts a main camera and an ultrawide lens, the other two models incorporate an additional periscope telephoto lens, enabling 5x optical zoom.
All three devices are driven by Google’s Tensor G4 System-on-Chip (SoC). Notably, while the Pro models support Ultra-Wideband (UWB), the standard Pixel 9 model does not. As evident in the leaked images, the revamped design of the Pixel 9 series ditches the edge-to-edge ‘visor’ appearance on the rear in favor of a camera island, resulting in a fully flat frame.
